Both classrooms were very busy with arts and crafts in October. In the Senior Room we made a castle from tissue paper holders, skeletons and masks. In the Junior Room we made masks, a pumpkin and a spider from clay.
To make our castles, we arranged the tissue paper holders to make the castle shapes. Then we taped the holders together and used paper maché until our castles were covered. When they dried, we painted them. We were very happy with the way they came out.
For our skeletons we had to follow instructions step by step. We cut out the skeleton shape and we glued and folded the pieces to create our skeletons. We gave each of our skeletons a name.
Our teacher gave us a blank mask and we had to paint it in any colour we chose. When they dried, we had a variety of materials to choose from to decorate our mask. We used diamonds, feathers and glitter.
In the Junior Room we made masks, a pumpkin and a spider from clay. We chose different characters for our masks and we designed our masks to match our characters. We spent a lot of time painting very carefully and mixing colours to get the right shade. We had a lot of fun with the clay to make our spiders and pumpkins. We moulded the clay into the right shape and carved in extra details. When they had dried and hardened, we painted them.
