As a themed approach to learning within SESE lessons both classrooms studied a country in Africa. The main countries studied were Nigeria and Chad. The children learned all about the culture, food, languages, buildings and the lives of people in Nigeria and Chad. All children then chose a particular country and created their own unique project. We are very lucky that every child in our school has access to an individual Chrome book. This meant each of the children could look up additional interesting facts about their chosen country for their projects. Some of the younger children made fantastic African masks using paper plates, crepe paper and vibrant paint colours. They also made and decorated clay pinch pots in traditional African colours.
