Junior Room Buns March 2022

The children in the junior room had a special treat today making chocolate rice krispie buns as part of a themed approach to learning. The older classes in the junior room have spent the past number of weeks exploring procedural writing, looking at and learning how to write their own step by step recipes. At the same time the junior classes have been learning all about The Restaurant in Aistear. As a reward for all their hard work the children worked together to make the buns. They weighted and measured all the ingredients, then followed a step by step recipe to make the buns. The children all worked very well together as a team. When the mixture was ready the children took turns to spoon it carefully into bun cases and they got to decorate their own buns. They even made some extra ones to give to the children in the senior room, who were more than happy to taste test them!
